Latest Actuarial Valuations Set For Discussion At January 20 Board Meeting

SDCERS' actuary, Cheiron, will be presenting the June 30, 2011 Actuarial Valuations for the City, Port and Airport to the SDCERS Board at its regularly scheduled meeting on Friday, January 20 in the SDCERS Board Room.
Key highlights of the valuations include the following:

City of San Diego:
 
  • Unfunded Actuarial Liability (UAL) of $2.178 billion
  • Funding Ratio of 68.5%
  • FY 2013 Annual Required Contribution (ARC) of $231.3 million (up $0.1 million from FY 2012)
San Diego Unified Port District:
 
  • UAL of $95.5 million
  • Funding Ratio of 73.1%
  • FY 2013 ARC of $13.2 million (up $0.6 million from FY 2012)
San Diego Regional Airport Authority:
 
  • UAL of ($2.3) million (a surplus)
  • Funding Ratio of 102.7%
  • FY 2013 ARC of $2.6 million (down $1.2 million from FY 2012)
