The SDCERS Board of Administration on Friday unanimously appointed Greg Kowieski to the independent Audit Committee. The Audit Committee also thanked outgoing member Marilyn Creson Brown for eight years of service to the pension system at a special recognition ceremony earlier in the week.
“We are excited to welcome Greg to the independent Audit Committee,” stated CEO Mark Hovey. “Greg’s experience will provide the practical expertise necessary to serve the organization and our members well.”
Kowieski is currently a partner with Moss Adams, LLP where he is responsible for auditing small SEC registrants and privately held technology, manufacturing and distribution clients. With more than seventeen years of professional experience, Kowieski has worked for and with Fortune 200 and middle market companies.
“SDCERS, the Board of Administration and our members are indebted to Marilyn for her faithful service over the past eight years,” said Hovey. “We are a better organization because of her contributions. She will be greatly missed.”
Creson Brown served on the SDCERS’ Audit Committee since its inception in 2006. She was reappointed for a second four-year term in 2010.
