Herb Morgan Re-Elected As SDCERS Board President

Date: Aug 15, 2012

The San Diego City Employees' Retirement System (SDCERS) Board of Administration unanimously re-elected Herb W. Morgan as Board president at its regular meeting August 11, 2012.  Morgan was first appointed to the SDCERS Board in 2009 by San Diego Mayor Jerry Sanders.

“I am pleased with the confidence placed in me by my fellow Board Members. Since the SDCERS board was reconstituted to have a majority of independent trustees it has become a model to other systems for strong corporate governance and sound actuarial practices,” said Morgan. “I vow to continue to advocate policies that will strengthen the trust fund and protect its assets for both current and future retirees."

SDCERS provides a comprehensive range of member services to its more than 20,000 active, retired and deferred members, including the administration of retirement, disability and death benefits.   Herb W. Morgan is an unpaid citizen volunteer.
